My! Who made this list? Here are the ones I’ve read:
–To Kill A Mockingbird, Harper Lee
— The Red Tent, Anita Diamant
— Moby Dick, Herman Melville
— Artemis Fowl, Eoin Colfer
— For Whom the Bell Tolls, Ernest Hemingway
I was not aware of any criticism of these and I read very widely. Oh, sure, Moby Dick gets OCD over whales, but it’s at least interesting information from the 19th century.
Nor did I know ‘The Red Tent’ was popular enough to make any list. While it wasn’t great from a Biblical accuracy point of view, it was entertaining enough to read once.
Of these books, I’d rank them:
— For Whom the Bell Tolls, Ernest Hemingway
— Moby Dick, Herman Melville
— Artemis Fowl, Eoin Colfer
— The Red Tent, Anita Diamant
–To Kill A Mockingbird, Harper Lee
in terms of my personal enjoyment.
Of the other books I haven’t read, I suspect some of them might deserve to be on this list.
